Trading in FUT 23 - What's New?

FUT23 is around the corner and it will bring some massive changes. In this article I'm showing you the three major changes and how it will possibly impact the transfer market.

Crossplay

Many fans were waiting for this! Crossplay will be available in FUT23 but there are some facts we have to look at. The platforms of the last & new gen of Playstation and Xbox can not only play together now, but also share the transfer market. PC players can crossplay with console players as well, but they have a transfer market on their own.

Looking from a traders perspective, the fact that console players are buying and selling on the same market now is really interesting. At first it seems like a good new feature, but it could bring a lot of troubles with it.

Personally I think hype and panic will even be more extreme since more players are depending on one market. So if we're having leak issues like last year, there could be a short time where certain demanded players could rise from the bottom to the skyline. On the other hand if something happens, which no one was prepared for, like a player isn't part of a promo team and won't go out of packs, the panic could be extreme within minutes. But I have to admit that it's not like we're getting more demand and less supply. There should be a healthy balance between demand and supply since more players will open packs on one market and more players will buy due demand.

Overall crossplay is a good expansion for traders and all players, since we're competing in one market now. Good moves should be rewarded due to hype and right decisions, but wrong moves could hurt a lot!

Early start

In the last few years players could play approx. 10-20 hours in advance of the preorder release. This year it's not possible to access the game on the console earlier than the "Ultimate Edition" release on 27.09.2022, since the EA play 10 hours will start on the same day!

This one will change the market structure in the early days, because we're coming from three kinds of starting early in the last few years with 10 hours EA Play, preorder & official release. This year we have a massive run on one day, since many people are going to start on the 27th of September. In the last few years, the market got pumped up from the EA Play phase because some players are buying points and opening packs. Afterwards there was the preorder release where several other people were buying FIFA 23 coins as well but next to that they were receiving their 4.600 points bonus on top for opening packs. The supply these days was split up during several phases. This year most of the packs will be opened on 27.09.22 because most players will unite on one date to bring supply to the market. This will pump the market and prices of demanded players will rise every minute!

Chemistry

As the publisher revealed early on, we'll receive a new chemistry system. It's not about direct links to players nearby anymore but about all players on the pitch. Chemistry is important to secure the stats of your players or even increase them by linking cards from the same league, nation or club.

In this game we have to combine players in order to secure one to three chemistry points. You have to put players in the right position in order to collect points. You can't decrease the main stats of a card, no matter how you'll place it in your squad. Obviously a striker will be out of position many times if you place him in the defense because of lack of those important stats.

Chemistry is important for gameplay, but as well for Squad Building Challenges. That's where trading comes in. A new system of chemistry will change the importance of many players for completing SBCs. But it's not bad after all since there will be some players which won't be that good anymore in completing profitable SBCs but other ones will be even more important. We have to look very closely at the market and understand which ones are very good in this system.
